Obagi Elastiderm Day Eye Gel

obagi day eye cream gelThe Obagi Elastiderm Day Eye Gel is designed to reduce the first signs of aging, the ones which penetrate the thin, sensitive skin around your eyes.  By providing the skin the hydration, collagen and elastin that your eyes need, Obagi claims your skin will look perfectly refreshed and refined.

During our testing of the product we place small dots of the gel around the eye area and smoothed it in until thoroughly absorbed, just as directed.  It did leave us with a refreshing feeling and it certainly moisturized our skin, but the wrinkle reduction we encountered was less than impressive.  This is a unique feeling blend of ingredients, but overall it just did not do that much to reduce the actual signs of aging.

Our Impression
Our impression of the product, was that it was overpriced and a rather strange gel.  The application of the gel was rather sticky and tacky.  The product did not absorb rapidly and kind of coated our skin with a sticky after effect.  At first we thought that this cover would protect the skin while it healed, but then we saw the results…limited at best.  It just became a messy part of our morning, in fact, over 50% of our testers reported wanting to stop application prior to the six week mark.

Recommendation
If you enjoy rubbing paste all over your face for limited to no results, then this is the product for you.  We had heard quite a bit of good reports about this product prior to testing and were quite excited about the use, but that is where we were left….wanting.  It just never delivered what we hoped for.  Yes, we experienced the hydration and moisturizing qualities of this product, but priced at $85.50 for each 0.5 oz. we cannot recommend it to you as a moisturizer or an eye cream.  This is just one of those cases where a unique feeling gel gains interest, but does not deliver.
