Does Hylexin work?

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Question: I saw a magazine ad for Hylexin in Women’s World magazine.  It said that it was really powerful for getting rid of dark circles and bags, and also wrinkles that usually appear around the eye area.  I was wondering if anyone has any experience in using this product, or knows about the best ingredients for really getting rid of dark circles and bags.  I would appreciate any feedback on this product or on any others that would help me make my buying decision.  Thanks,  Carrol Hammond  Dallas, TX

Answer: While we are not sure of the full ingredient list that Hylexin contains, we did have a chance to try this product.   It was used for about 3 weeks, and frankly the dark circles on our testers eyes didn’t appear to be much lighter.  Regarding the best ingredients for getting rid of dark circles and bags, there are two that are head and shoulders above the rest.   Here is a link to an excellent article on the best products for dark circles, bags and wrinkles.

These two ingredients may not be found in Hylexin, but they ARE AVAILABLE in other products.   They are Haloxyl and Eyeliss. Haloxyl focuses on the dark circles.   Dark circles appear when blood leaks out of the capillaries (tiny veins) and accumulates under the skin, causing a “bruised” look.  This leaking of the blood can be genetic, or can be caused by lack of sleep or even stress.

What Haloxyl does, is allows those loose particles of blood to break up and dissipate, leaving the skin back in its normal state, without the dark circles that were once visible.

Eyeliss, on the other hand, focuses on those bags that appear under the eye.   Those bags are caused by globules of fat or fluid that accumulate in little pockets under the eye.  Eyeliss is a peptide that helps to dissolve them, allowing them to leave the pockets empty and that “baggy” appearance to go away.

What about wrinkles?

There is no better ingredient on the market than Matrixyl.  It helps your skin generate elastin, collagen, and actually works on the DNA level to get your skin to restore its youthful state.
